Your Rider Training Team
The Scotriders training team is carefully guided by husband and wife Alan and Heather Kelly, who between them have over 70 years bike riding experience.
Alan is a Cardington DVSA- DAS Qualified Instructor who was first trained as a motorcycle instructor by Star Rider in 1989 and worked with them and consequently Scot Rider until they ceased training in 1995. During this time he trained hundreds of motorcyclists across Tayside and Angus to complete their CBT and pass their full motorcycle test.
He is also a DVSA Registered Post-Test Motorcycle Trainer qualified to deliver motorcycle rider development training.
Heather joined Scot Rider in 1990 and soon became a valued member of the team, also training hundreds of riders in Dundee and the surrounding areas to complete CBTs and pass their full bike test.
Since opening Scotriders in 2004 they have trained thousands more riders to complete CBT and go on to pass their full tests.
Pete joined the Scotriders team in 2012 as a CBT instructor having been riding motorcycles since before most of us were born. By the end of that year he had progressed on to do Cardington and become a DVSA-DAS Qualified Instructor.
He has become an invaluable asset to Scotriders and has certainly helped spread the work load as Scotriders has grown.
This has allowed Heather to concentrate on managing the office and she is now your first line of contact with Scotriders, booking all your training, tests and applying her wealth of knowledge of motorcycle training to answer all your queries.
With Heather now concentrating on the office side of the business we felt it was imperative that we address the gender balance of our instructor team.
Diana joined us as a CBT instructor in 2013 bringing over 30 years of riding experience and an in depth knowledge of the female bike scene with her.
Sam is our newest addition to the team, she has and will continue to assist in the office but is also a qualified CBT instructor.
Being the daughter of Alan and Heather she was brought up with rider training, passing her first full test (moped) back in 2010, she has a great understanding of both sides of the business and is the future of Scotriders.

Fantastic place to do your CBT, good clear instructions, goes at a pace that suits you (even if you do take a little longer for it to sink in) very patient! Definitely recommend to anyone who is nervous about getting in control of a bike! Two very enthusiastic thumbs up!

Pete was very patient and helpful with me for my first time riding a bike and I also had very little road experience. He helped me stay calm and relaxed through the experience and we eventually got there. Thanks again!

Cheers for a cracking day on Saturday passing my CBT. Big thanks to Pete for making the day fun despite the usual Scottish Summer (read: loads of bloody wind and rain!) looking forward to getting a new bike and eventually getting rid of my L plates once and for all!
