Before riding on the road, most learner motorcyclists and moped riders must complete a CBT (Compulsory Basic Training) course, although some exemptions do exist.

This should be followed by
Pre-Test Training so you are best prepared for both modules of the motorcycle test.

And, if you already have a licence, we can offer you a Refresher Course or Enhanced Rider Scheme (ERS) training.

training team

The Scotriders motorcycle training is carefully guided by husband and wife Alan and Heather Kelly, who have more than 40 years’ bike riding experience.

Alan is a Cardington DSA-Qualified Instructor who was first trained as a motorcycle instructor by Star Rider in 1989 and worked with them and consequently Scot Rider until they ceased training in 1995.

During this time he trained hundreds of motorcyclists across Tayside to complete their CBT and pass their full motorcycle test.

Heather joined Scot Rider in 1990 and soon became a valued member of the team, also training many riders in Dundee and the surrounding areas to complete CBTs and pass their full bike tests.

Scotriders … we’re here to help you with motorcycle training in Dundee.

Scotriders motorcycle training centre:

74 East Dock Street, Dundee, DD1 3LH.

Scotriders are very patient, I passed my test in 2010 after running round on my own 125cc bike for a year. Alan and Heather inspire confidence in you even when you may doubt your own abilities. They are honest with you and will advise you what areas you may need to concentrate more on to prepare yourself for your big bike test. Scotriders training site is also very well set up, either for a new person to biking who is considering doing CBT or for the biker who is wanting to do the next step for the big bike test, as you can practice and gain confidence of the bike you are riding before you go out on the road with the instructor.
